Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Break the Pattern mobile application and related services, provided by Break The Pattern LLC.
1. Eligibility
Must be 13+. Under 18 requires parent/guardian acceptance.
2. Your account
You are responsible for credential security. Notify support@breakthepattern.app if compromised. Delete account anytime via Profile → Delete Account (immediate, irreversible, backups age out in 30 days).
3. Subscriptions, trials, and payments
Plans:
- Monthly: $9.99/month with 3-day free trial
- Yearly: $69.99/year with 7-day free trial
Auto-renewal:
Renews automatically unless cancelled 24+ hours before period ends (manage via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions).
Free trial:
Charged automatically if not cancelled before trial ends.
Refunds:
Processed by Apple — request at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Referral credits:
Earned when invitees subscribe and complete 3+ check-ins per 7-day window; non-redeemable for cash.
4. License
Personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license for personal use on iOS devices you own. No copying, modifying, decompiling, reverse-engineering, reselling, or circumventing the friction ladder for others.
5. Your content
You own your content (gratitudes, intentions, etc.). You grant us a license to store and process it solely to provide the service. We do not use it for marketing or AI training.
6. Screen Time / Family Controls
All enforcement on-device. We never see which apps you block. Friction ladder is a self-imposed UX hurdle, not a hard block.
7. No medical advice
The App is not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. Contact a qualified professional for mental-health crises.
8. Third-party services
Supabase, RevenueCat, PostHog, Apple terms apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party outages or billing errors by Apple.
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
10. Limitation of liability
No liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Total liability capped at the greater of (a) amounts paid in prior 12 months or (b) US $50.
11. Termination
You may stop anytime. We may suspend for Terms violations. Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 survive termination.
12. Changes
Material changes communicated in-app or by email 7 days before effective date.
13. Governing law
Wyoming law, Sheridan County courts. EEA/UK/Swiss users retain mandatory consumer-protection rights.
14. Apple Standard EULA
Apple Standard EULA also applies. These Terms are between you and Break The Pattern LLC only, not Apple. Apple is a third-party beneficiary.
